Daniel Buttrey is a photo-based artist living and working in Connecticut. He holds a BFA in studio art from the University of Connecticut and earned his MFA in photography from the University of Hartford in 2008. In graduate school, someone told him he was a neo-classical modernist; that sounds about right.
His work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions throughout the US and abroad, earning some awards including a Connecticut Artist Fellowship. His work is held in private and public collections such as the Dodd Research Center and the President's Collection at the University of Connecticut, including some pretty obscure ones. He works as the lab manager for the School of Fine Arts at the University of Connecticut and teaches photography and digital media at area colleges and universities.
